Evening Program
Opera 101
They sing without a microphone, act, dance and communicate in several different languages. They are masters of multi tasking, their training encompasses as many years as that of a doctor and their passion for their work carries them through feast and famine. They are those creatures called 'opera singers'.
This year’s program, hosted by UBC, features a presentation of Opera 101, led by acclaimed opera performer and UBC professor Nancy Hermiston. Part stimulating lecture, part lively performance, Opera 101 will give you insight into the training, performances, careers and lives of opera singers.
